Health Insurance Awareness among the University Teachers in Pokhara Valley
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to observe the level of awareness about health insurance among the university teachers in Pokhara valley. The study has followed the descriptive and crosssectional research design. Primary data have been obtained by administering a structured questionnaire to the 150 teachers of the university and constituent colleges of Pokhara University, located in Kaski District of Nepal. Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal- Wallis tests have been used to test the hypothesis. The study concludes that the majority of the respondents are aware about the Nepal government's health insurance programs launched in the country. The opinions regarding the health awareness and knowledge on health insurance are mostly associated with ethnicity and least associated with gender issues and marital status, and moderately with age and educational levels.
